NYSC has given an update on the fire outbreak at the Headquarters in Abuja.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) stated that no life was lost in the tragic fire incident at its headquarters in Abuja that occurred earlier today.
Against speculations, the Director of Press Relations, Eddy Megwa, revealed in a statement made available to journalists that officials of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Federal Fire Service Departments responded swiftly to the inferno to avoid damages.
Megwa noted in the statement that the fire incident started at about 7:30 am today and was limited to the third floor of the six-storey building edifice.
He explained that the floor is occupied by Planning, Research and Statistics, and the General Service Department, with the fire affecting only a particular room with electronic gadgets.
”Fortunately, no life was lost, and all vital documents were promptly evacuated and safeguarded.
”The scheme management heartily appreciates the Federal and FCT Fire Service Departments for their prompt response, which minimised the effect of the incident.
“Management also appreciates all security agencies for the invaluable roles they played during the unfortunate incident,” Megwa added.
