Oba Kazeem Adeshina Salami Of Makun-Omi Kingdom Celebrates Fourth Coronation Anniversary

It has been four years since His Royal Highness, Oba Kazeem Adeshina Salami, the Osobia of Makun-Omi Kingdom, ascended the throne of his ancestors.

The then-Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, presented the staff of office to the monarch on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.

Since his ascension to the throne, Oba Salami has received praises from various quarters. He has been commended for presiding over a period of growth, peace, and prosperity in Makun-Omi Kingdom.

In 2021, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Ogun State, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo, described Makun-Omi, a town located in the Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State, as an attractive town, blessed with numerous tourist attraction sites which form part of the rich cultural values and festivals capable of placing the state on World Tourist map.

She praised Oba Salami for creating an international platform and market for projecting the tourism potential inherent in Makun-Omi and its environs to the global world.

Accordingly, the monarch has been a vocal voice in calling on all indigenes of the community in the diaspora to return home, invest, and cultivate the habit of visiting for holidays with their families during different celebrations.

In this age, the main task of a traditional ruler is to be the custodian of his people’s culture and project their norms and conditions in a positive light.

According to many observers, Oba Salami has excelled in these duties and he keeps doing more as he kicks off his fourth year as the king of Makun-Omi Kingdom.
