Oba Kolawole Aliru Urges Poka Citizens To Invest In Their Homeland

Oba Kolawole Aliru has urged Poka citizens to come invest in their homeland.

He made the call at the 10th anniversary of his ascension to the throne of his fathers.

The monarch assured potential investors of a peaceful and serene environment alongside the safety of lives and properties.

Oba Aliru, therefore, implored the government and public-spirited sons and daughters of the ancient town to strive to invest in the rapidly developing community which boasts of a conducive business environment for the prosperity of all.

“After listing our major achievements in the last ten years, I wish to state the two projects that have been on my mind which I want to appeal to our sons and daughters home and abroad, residents of Poka, individuals and corporate bodies, the State and Local Governments to help to bring into reality. The two projects are the town hall and the palace,” he said.

“We appeal to our sons and daughters- home and abroad, to come back home and buy land to establish companies and build houses for residential and commercial purposes. Poka is developing at a high rate and there is the security of lives and properties.”

The monarch further appealed to the Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to support the socio-economic development agenda of the good people of Poka land.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the occasion, Rep. Wale Raji, attested to the landmark achievements implanted across the landscape of the community since the Oba Aliru’s ascension to the throne of his forbearers.

He admitted that in contrast to the state of development before the monarch’s enthronement, the road infrastructure facilitated by the Lagos State Government, which heralds the entrance and exit of the community, has aided its exponential growth.

“Your period on the throne has been remarkable. We have witnessed a lot of progress in the last couple of years since your ascension to the throne because I am a son of the soil. Before your majesty’s enthronement, we travel through the bushes and forests till we get to Poka. But today, to the glory of God, it is now an express road,” he said.

“We can point out several other developments around us. That shows that we are progressive-minded because most of the time when you call me, you always draw my attention to some of the development projects that you require in your domain. I want to use this medium to assure you that your request concerning Pobuna Secondary Grammar School would be granted soon.”

On his part, the Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon Ismail Monsuru, who delivered the keynote address, expressed satisfaction about the leadership traits of the celebrant, describing him as a team player and fountain of knowledge and wisdom.

He, therefore, extended his heart of gratitude on behalf of the good people of Poka and the entire Eredo LCDA to dignitaries and guests who graced the event.

The anniversary ceremony, which held at the ancient Pobo primary school field, witnessed a multitude of government officials, Royal fathers, captains of industries, political juggernauts, and other notable guests.

Notably, HRM Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, Oloja of Epe land; Oba Dr Shefiu Adewale, Olu-Epe of Epe kingdom; Oba Dr Babatunde Ogunlaja JP FMBE, the Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija kingdom; Oba Olukayode Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara kingdom and other High Chiefs and Baales graced the event.
