Oba Market: Buhari Reacts To Fire Outbreak

President Muhammadu Buhari reacts to the fire incident that broke out on Monday in Oba Market, Benin City, Edo State.

In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari called on local and federal authorities to assist victims of the fire incident in Edo State.

Ekohotblog reported that the famous Benin Monarch market (Oba Market) was razed by fire on Monday, damaging several shops as well as goods.

Buhari said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with those who lost their shops and wares.’’

The statement said the President also directed an investigation into the cause of the inferno to avoid similar incidents in the future.
