Eko Hot Blog reports that Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, Epe, Lagos State, has celebrated the newly crowned Omola of Odomola Kingdom, Oba Adeshina Sulaimon Adebowale, and urged him to be a wise and just ruler.
Oba Ogunlaja made the charge at the coronation ceremony of Oba Adebowale on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
In his speech, he congratulated the newly crowned monarch and reminded him of the sacred responsibilities that come with the title of Omola.
Oba Ogunlaja also urged the people of Odomola to be wise, fair, united, and work together with their monarch to make the kingdom better.
He said that he would support the new king and wished him well, adding that it was important to keep their culture and work together for a brighter future.
“As one of the royal fathers of the day, I want to take a moment to remind HRM Oba Adeshina Sulaimon Adebowale of the sacred responsibilities that come with this esteemed title,” the Odo-Noforija monarch said.
“You are now the custodian of our culture, our heritage, and the welfare of our people. Your reign must be characterized by wisdom, justice, and unwavering dedication to the betterment of Odomola.
“Chiefs and members of the community, let us remember that we are all integral to the progress and prosperity of this kingdom. Our collective efforts are what will uplift Odomola and ensure that it continues to thrive. Let us work together, hand in hand, to support and uplift our new king as he takes on this noble role.
“I implore all of us to embrace unity, togetherness, and cooperation in the pursuit of Odomola’s development. Our king needs our guidance, and we, in turn, need his leadership. Together, we can achieve great things, preserve our culture, and ensure a bright future for our beloved kingdom.”
Oba Adebowale in return thanked dignitaries in attendance, and the community for their trust and confidence in him.
He also thanked Oba Ogunlaja and the other royal fathers for their blessings.
The coronation ceremony witnessed the presence of a large group of people, including a representative of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Dr. Kadir Hamzat.
The event also featured various cultural displays.
