The Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja JP, has reiterated the need for the Lagos state government to open up Epe and make the environment more conducive for setting up of industries and businesses.
The monarch spoke when he played host to members of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pobo District, Eredo LCDA, Epe.
The religious body had visited the monarch to pray the Royal family and the entire Eredo LCDA in the new year, was hosted at the official palace of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, Noforija Epe, on Friday, January 8th, 2020.
He expressed delighted at the gesture of the religious body to offer annual prayers as usual for his household and the community .
“The most important is unity because the moment there is unity, things will go on smoothly as expected. If you witnessed the 2020 pandemic, it was a harsh period not for only Nigeria, but the entire universe. We thank God that despite all the turmoils, Epe Division happens to be the most peaceful area of all areas in Lagos State”
He lauded the efforts of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in checking the spread of COVID-19 and his unflinching commitment towards ameliorating the hardship faced by people of the state
” We hope for the best in 2021 and we will continue to sue for peace and unity because the moment unity thrives, every other thing will fall in place.
“We urge and appeal to the Lagos State Government to bring in more industries because when there are no decent jobs, the youths can misbehave.
We also thank God for our youths for their little understanding during the pandemic, we appeal to them to keep it up and desist from allowing any miscreant, no matter how highly placed, to use them” He said
Regarding efforts to check the spread of the pandemic, Oba Ogunlana admonished the people to be law abiding citizens by strictly adhering to Government COVID 19 protocols in terms of maintaining physical distancing, using nose masks, regular hand washing and avoiding crowded places. These, he said, would reduce the spread of the pandemic which is rising day by day in the wake of the second wave.

He commended the accomplishments of the Lagos State Government in its continuous resolve to intervene in the COVID 19 economic crises. He, however, opined that Government should put more machinery in place to combat the deadly pandemic.
” In my view, the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu is doing a lot. Some people may be of the opinion that he did nothing but those of us that are closer to the seat of power knows what is going on despite the overwhelming population we have. We know the Governor and his team are trying and they need to put in place more machinery till COVID becomes history “, he said.
