Commendation As Oba Ogunlaja Of Odo-Noforija Hosts LTV 8 MD Adeshola Kosoko At Palace

By Babawale Solomon

Eko Hot Blog reports that HRM Oba Babatunde Olaogun Ogunlaja JP, the Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija kingdom, Epe, Lagos State, on Thursday, received the Managing Director of Lagos State Television (LTV 8) and wife to the Oloja-elect of Ereko, Lagos State, Adesola Kosoko.

The low-key visitation, which took place at the palace of Oba Ogunlaja, witnrssed the presence of royal figures and some members of LTV 8.

After a brief tête-à-tête with Mrs Kosoko, the monarch spokes with reporters, expressing confidence in her capacity to pilot the affairs of the station in the right part.

He also appealed to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to support her and the organisation.

“The new Managing Director, she’s capable to direct the affairs of the station. With her I’m sure there will be more transparency so that things can improve and messages go round to the people Lagos, Nigeria and beyond,” the traditional ruler stated.

“We appeal to the Lagos state government to give them more support, so that the MD now will be able to carry out her function dutifully because she’s a tested and trusted hand.

“She knows what to do and knows what is expected of her in that position. As royal fathers we appeal personally to his excellency governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to give her more support.”

Subsequently, Oba Ogunlaja spoke on the happenings in the community, especially in terms of security, including how the security agencies have stepped up to bring peace to the community, and how grateful he is for their impact.

“In terms of security, I have talked to the government security agencies, and I thank God that they’re yielding to our call. I have written a letter to the new IG, and he responded immediately, leading to a reduction in the crime rate. We are grateful for that,” he said.

The monarch acknowledged the economic difficulties Nigerians are facing but expressed belief that President Bola Tinubu is capable of turning the fortunes of the country around for good.

“We are aware there’s hardship, and I believe that with time, things will take shape because the man at the helm of affairs, our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is highly intelligent and experienced,” Oba Ogunlaja stated.

“Looking at the situation of the country, everything and everywhere is calm. People know that the president is very transparent with what he’s doing, and I don’t think he has time for himself right now. Things have gone wrong before, and he’s trying to put things together for the good people of Nigeria.”

He appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience, as the president has put people he knew would do a good job in positions they are capable of handling, while urging the Nigerian leader to ignore social media criticisms.

“I appeal to people to be more patient; Rome wasn’t built in a day. The people in government now have been tested and are trusted; they know what they’re doing. The person handling the Central Bank of Nigeria, as well as the finance minister and many others, is known to the president, and he knows what they’re capable of,” the traditional ruler said.

“As a leader, if you put someone in a position and don’t know what they’re capable of, it will be difficult to succeed. The president knows the nook and cranny of the government.

“We don’t listen to what’s going on social media because doing that will make one feel offended. We thank God that about 90% of the people know that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu knows what he is doing.”

He concluded by appreciating the unwavering support of his subjects and wishing them compliments of the season.

On her part, Mrs Kemi Muyi-Adeniyi, a staff member of LTV 8, while speaking with Eko Hot Blog, revealed the essence of the courtesy visit to the king.

“Today’s visit to Oba Ogunlaja has a great significance because Lagos state television is not just an ordinary brand but a brand that reckons with the grassroots and because of that we go all the way to visit our royal fathers because that’s one of the distinctive and important things we need to do, and that’s what we’re doing here,” she said.

Mrs Muyi-Adeniyi also praised the company’s managing director’s leadership style; her passion to get things done properly, protect workers, and carry her subordinates along.

“She has a passion and that passion is having things done. She goes the extra miles, if she sees that anyone is having a challenge and this is before she became the general manager of Lagos state television,” she said.

“She doesn’t like, anyone being trampled on, especially if she thinks you can do what they say you can’t do. She steps in to protect people and that’s why it’s easy for people to follow her, and to follow her leadership style.”

At the end of the visit, photographs were taken and gifts were given to Oba Ogunlaja, the Aladeshonyin of Odo-Noforija kingdom and former secretary of the Lagos State Council of Obas.
