  • “We want to see a Miss Epe Divison Pageant that will attract people from all over Lagos and the Southwest.”

The Alara of Ilara Kingdom and Permanent Vice Chairman, Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo has hailed the initiative of the organizers of the Omoluabi Awards and Miss Epe Division Pageant.

The Monarch, who did the honour of presenting the awards to the awardees during the 2021 edition of the event which held on Saturday, April 3, at the royal Waterfront Suites, also admonished the organizers of the event to remain committed to using the platform to promote civic responsibility and social values in the Division and beyond.

“I want to implore you to continue to conduct yourself in a very responsible manner and all those things we shared in terms of bringing succour to the less privileged, and we pray that you will not derail from that vision.”

“We want to see a Miss Epe Division pageant that will attract people from all over Lagos State and People from the Southwest. A pageant that people will want to look forward to that will bring about revenue and prestige to our area”, he said.

As a Royal father, Alara noted that it is very important to support the youths, who, according to him, are present leaders and no longer future leaders.

He lamented the gradual erosion of social values in today’s society which has been overtaken by modernity and the cult to pander towards popular trends.

“In those days, we were very disciplined, focused and highly competitive. We compete on good things like you see someone going to the beat University, you also want to be part of that. You see someone achieving and excelling in their studies, you also want to excel. You see someone, a young man that has the legitimate business acumen to make extra money, not the kind of things that are happening now”, kabiyesi stated.

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, Alara also used the opportunity to appreciate the Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure Engineer Mrs Aramide Adeyoye for their superb roles in the ongoing projects geared towards the rapid urbanisation of the Division.

“In addition to the Refinery which has already begun operations in Ibeju-Lekki, it is clear that the commercial activities of the State are tilting towards one direction, Epe Division.”

“For someone that is forward-thinking and that has the foresight, it is time to come and invest in Epe Division. Who will do it for us? The people from outside are not going to do that for us, it is we that will take the lead when others will follow”, he stated.
