Oba Olugbon Extols Alara Of Ilara, Describes Him As Reputable Technocrat

A first class monarch in Oyo state, Oba Olugbon has has reiterated the significance of Alara stool to the traditional institution in Yoruba land.

Oba Olugbon was speaking at the birth celebration of Alara of Ilara, Oba Ogunsanwo Olufolarin.

Olugbon expressed pride in associating with Oba Ogunsanwo whom he described as a reputable technocrat.

Olugbon noted that Oba Ogunsanwo has the required experience and knowledge to lead the Ilara Kingdom and bring the much needed development to it. He asked the monarch to carry the people along and seek their support, advising him to be courageous and stand firm.

Olugbon frowned at the use of politics as a tool to distort history and thereby admonished guests in the gathering to embrace Yoruba culture and tradition and coexist peacefully. He also preached the importance of teaching children history so as to be kept abreast of their true origins.

Oba Olugbon also briefly discuss the historical relevance of the rich Alara stool, Olugbon and others as Oba Iwashe sighted the Oranfe, Obatala and Oduduwa as 1st, 2nd and 3rd dynasties respectively. All these are meant to place the Alara stool in the highest place it deserves in Yoruba land.

For his part, Oba Oniwonlu described Oba Olufolarin as a good listener and a wonderful gift for Epe Division. He also appreciated Oba Olugbon for his brief historical flashback as regard culture and tradition of Yoruba people. he noted that there was nothing like Yahoo Yahoo in the olden days as stealing or living beyond one’s means was critically discouraged.

Prince Adeniyi Shobaloju who flew in from the US to honour Oba Folarin’s birthday presented a unique portrait painting made by Professor Lookman of Pasuma ACIATECH Foundation. the painting was described as the 7th of its kind as Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and 5 others have had the privilege to be gifted with such unique portrait.

The event also witnessed presentation of award and investiture by Dr. Richard Poku from CIPRM, Ghana. The Exectuve Director of the Institute decorated Oba Olufolarin with the Institute’s academic robes together with a certificate for his outstanding and untainted records as a tax official for over 26 years in service to Lagos state. Having craved the indulgence of Alara and his beautiful Olori, both couples stood for a few moments while the latter’s citation was being read.

Saliu Adeniyi, Eredo LCDA Chairman and Executive members, Oba Francis Olusola Alao, Olugbon of Orile Igbon, (Vice Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs) and wife, Olori Abimbola Yetunde Ogunsanwo, Pastor Mrs. Funmi Adeniyi. princess Samiat Bada, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA Chairman, Prince Ademuyiwa Oniwonlu, Oba of Ibeju Agbe, Alhaja Kafilat Ogbara, Commissioner, Audit Service Commission, Engineer Dele Onabokun, (Former Commissioner for Works and Housing) and wife, Surveyor J.K Olayemi, Mrs. Temitope Sanwoolu, Otunba Taiwo Taiwo, the Alara Chiefs in Counci, Iyalojas of Eredo.
