The impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, with 32 out of 39 members voting in favor, not only demonstrates an overwhelming consensus but also signals the extent of dissatisfaction among assembly members towards his leadership.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the near-unanimous decision highlights the urgent need for change that assembly members perceived, ultimately culminating in Obasa’s removal.

EDITOR’S PICK

The vote count reveals that only a few members opposed the motion, indicating Obasa’s waning influence within the legislative body.

Below are profiles of the seven lawmakers in total who did not vote for his impeachment according to Western Post.

1. Hon. Nureni Akinsanya

Hon. Akinsanya, a two-term legislator representing Mushin Constituency I, has had an active role in various House committees throughout his political career.
