Former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, and Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, have been nominated for an international award, EKO HOT BLOG has gathered.
The Nigerian leaders, EKO HOT BLOG reports, have been nominated for awards by a Canada-based media outfit, Topflyers Magazine International.
Among others nominated for the international award are WTO DG, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; the Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, and an entertainment icon, David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido.
The latest development was made known via a statement by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Canada-based media outfit, Musa Yahaya, in Abuja on Thursday.
Yahaya noted that the personalities were nominated for the 9th edition of the magazine’s award slated for September 2021.
He further stated that the process of voting for the nominated persons had already commenced.
The CEO of Topflyers Magazine added that the 2021 edition of the award ceremony would feature public office holders, royal fathers, content creators, religious leaders, CEOs, activists, philanthropists, fashion designers, and all those who have greatly excelled in their fields of endeavour and have contributed to the socio-capital development of Nigerians, Nigeria, and Africa at large.

Yahaya further stated that the 2021 award nominees were in different categories, with four nominees, out of which one person would emerge as the winner of the category through free and fair voting by Nigerians.
Winners of awards in previous editions, EKO HOT BLOG gathered, included Senator Abba Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial District; the Governor of Taraba State Darius Dickson Ishaku.

Others were Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum; Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu; a former Kano State Governor, Senator Kabiru Gaya and Minister of State, Mines and Steel, Dr Uche Ogah, among others.
Yahaya, therefore, noted that voting, which is at http://www.topflyersmagazines.com, would be concluded by the end of August 2021.
