This was in a 14 – day Leadership Excellence Award organized via online platforms and monitored by News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The votes were by Nigerians both at home and in diaspora. The businessman clinched the reputable award ahead of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Chairman of UBA, Tony Elumelu and founder of BUA group, Mr Abdul Rabiu.
The Cubana group boss polled 2,667,845 votes ahead of Governor Seyi Makinde’s 1,015,224 votes, Tony Elumelu’s 848,652 votes and Mr Abdul Rabiu’s 819,562 votes.
The prestigious award, organised by IgbereTV is endorsed by the African Union and the African Film Institute.
The award recognizes and honours outstanding impact of leaders across both the public and private sectors in Nigeria.
Obi Cubana is deemed as a worthy winner of this award because asides his success as a renowned businessman, he is also known as a philanthropist.
Obi Cubana who hails from Oba, a community in Idemili-South Local Government Area of Anambra state recently made news for empowering 300 youths with a million naira each in order to grow their business soon after the burial of his mother.
The award presentation event is expected to take place at Abuja on 2nd of November, 2021.
