Macaroni hits at Soyinka accusing him of hypocrisy as he termed Obidients as fascists.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nigerian comedian and actor, Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has criticized Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, for his recent comments about supporters of the Labour Party in Nigeria.
Soyinka had criticized supporters of Peter Obi, accusing them of being “fascists” and attacking his personality in the aftermath of the 2023 general elections.

In a series of tweets on Saturday, Mr Macaroni condemned Soyinka’s comments, stating that there are mobs across all political parties and it is hypocritical to act as if other mobs do not exist. He added that attempts to rewrite history will not work and that many of Peter Obi’s supporters have been subjected to the vilest of attacks, with hypocrites failing to condemn it even when the lives of the victims were under serious threats.
Mr Macaroni also noted that everyone has the right to support whoever they choose, but it is wrong to condemn a certain kind of evil while being associated with those who do the exact same thing.
He stressed that the most dangerous people on social media today are those who look on as trolls and thugs attack, curse, and incite violence against some people, but get a hard-on when their friends or those they are affiliated with suffer the same fate.
He further explained that attacking others should never be encouraged, and while people can disagree with each other’s political leanings, it is important to condemn any form of attack on people because of their political affiliations. He concluded by saying that biased and hypocritical fence-sitters are the real mob.
The comments made by Soyinka and Mr Macaroni come in the wake of the recently concluded general elections in Nigeria, which saw the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) retaining power for another four-year term.
