EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Special Assistant on Digital Communication to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has cautioned the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, about his followers known as “Obidients”.
Ahmad stated that the actions of these supporters are damaging Obi’s reputation both at home and abroad, and may soon destroy him beyond redemption.

In a tweet, Ahmad stated that Obi’s chances of ever reclaiming his alleged stolen mandate are becoming slimmer daily due to the actions of his followers. He described them as a headless mob, who may soon bring about Obi’s political downfall.
“No matter how people see it, Peter Obi’s so-called supporters, the headless mob, are damaging him at home and abroad and making his chances slimmer daily. He may not see it now until they destroy him beyond redemption. As for us, politically, we love to see it. That’s politics,” Ahmad wrote on Twitter.
Obi is currently at the Presidential Election Tribunal challenging the victory of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu. The LP flagbearer, who came third, has insisted that he won the Presidential election but was robbed of his victory.
However, Ahmad’s caution may be seen as a sign of political rivalry between the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the LP. Some political analysts have suggested that Ahmad’s tweet may be an attempt to discredit Obi and his supporters.
Despite this, Ahmad’s comments have sparked a debate on the role of supporters in Nigerian politics. Many Nigerians have criticized the actions of political supporters, who are often accused of engaging in violent and unethical behavior in the name of politics.
