On Monday, Obi announced on Twitter that he visited Gumi at his residence in Kaduna State in the company of Datti Baba-Ahmed, his running mate.

“Dr Datti Baba-Ahmed and I stopped by for a courtesy call on Sheikh Gumi at his official residence in Kaduna,” he tweeted, attaching pictures from the visit.

Obi and Baba-Ahmed were in Kaduna to attend an interactive session organised by the Arewa joint committee for presidential candidates.

His post has generated mixed reactions on Twitter, with some people disappointed he visited Gumi who’s infamous for championing the cause of amnesty for bandits.
