Ocean Basket Limited Staff, Emmanuel Enoma Charged With N12.7m Theft; Pleads Not Guilty

A 37-year-old employee of Ocean Basket Limited, Emmanuel Odugbo Enoma, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing N12.7 million from the company.

Eko Hot Blog gathered that the accused has been charged under the Criminal Laws of the State for conspiracy and stealing.

The incident reportedly occurred between October 2018 and August 2024 at the company’s office in Ikeja City Mall, Alausa, Lagos, where Emmanuel Enoma was employed as staff.

According to the Police, Enoma allegedly tampered with the funds without the knowledge of the management, which only came to light after an internal audit was conducted.

Upon the discovery of the missing money, the case was reported to the Alausa Division Police, who arrested and detained Enoma for interrogation.

After thorough investigation, the Police found Emmanuel Enoma culpable and brought him before the Ogba Magistrate Court to face charges for the alleged offense, which carries a potential sentence of several years imprisonment.

Supol Akeem Raji requested a hearing date from the court which comes after Enoma pleaded not guilty to the charges after being read to him, allowing the Police to present evidence supporting their allegations of his involvement in the crime.

Presiding Magistrate Mrs. O. Kusanu granted Enoma bail on the condition that he provides two sureties who can demonstrate their means of livelihood and tax payment history.

The court has adjourned the case for mention, with Enoma set to remain in custody at the correctional center in Kirikiri town until he fulfills the requirements of his bail conditions
