EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nigerian footballer Odion Ighalo has taken the lead over Portugal’s national team captain Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the top scorer in the Saudi Arabia league. Ighalo’s recent brace has put him ahead of Ronaldo, as both players compete for goal points in the league.
Ighalo, who joined Al-Hilal FC in January last year, has scored 11 goals in 15 games, while Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in December 2022, has scored eight goals so far.

Ighalo’s latest performance was during the match between Al Hilal and Al Taawon on Saturday, where he scored a brace to help Al Hilal secure a 4-0 win. He opened the scoring in the 32nd minute and doubled the lead just before halftime with a goal in the 45th minute.
It is noteworthy that Ighalo was the Goal King of Saudi Arabia last season, scoring 20 goals. The player dedicated his latest goals to his mother, whom he referred to as his “sweet mother” on Instagram.
The competition between Ighalo and Ronaldo for the top scorer title is expected to continue, with the latter likely to up his game to surpass the Nigerian striker. Meanwhile, the league continues to witness fierce competition among all the participating teams.
