Ekohotblog reports that eminent Lagosians thronged the ancient Kingdom of Odo-Noforija in Epe on 25th September for the 40 days Fidau Prayer for the Madam Ejide Adefuye a respectable figure in the ancient kingdom.
Madam Adefuye died on Saturday 31st, July 2021 at the age of 95.
Mosunmola Adefuye, a seasoned education administrator and daughter of the deceased described the death of her mother as an irreparable loss.
Mosunmola who spoke to Ekohotblog on the sideline of the Fidua prayer held in honour of her mother said: “My late mother is a true Senior Abiyamo of Nigeria. To the glory of God, Iya Onigari as she’s fondly called lived for over 9 decades on earth and that special grace of God is hard to come by in our country, especially when the life expectancy of a woman is 63 years.

“I have indelible memories of her as a disciplinarian who is compassionate and caring. She paid the ultimate price for her children to be educated through her trade, a legacy she held in high regard.
“I’ll surely miss her because I find it fascinating whenever I’m eulogised with Noforija’s eulogies and she fondly says my cognomen whenever she sights me.”
The Fidau prayers which were graced by His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr Babatunde Ogunlaja (JP) FmBe, as the Chief Host, had in attendance notable Royal fathers and dignitaries from all works of life some of which includes representatives of Olu- Epe of Epe kingdom and Oloja of Epe land, Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu kingdom and Oba Makun Omi – Are Saudi/ Osobia. Also in attendance is the Olowu of Owu-Ikosi Kingdom, and his wives.
Other dignitaries that witnessed the event include Dr Mrs Yinka Ayandele, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District III; Hon Ramota Bankole, Lagos All Progressives Congress State Welfare Officer; Alhaja Jumoke Rasaq (Jummy K); Princess Surah Animashaun, Epe LG Chairperson; Mrs Anifowoshe (Dengel); Mrs Balogun, Epe General Hospital Apex Nurse; Alhaja Folami, SUBEB Director of School Support Department were not left out.
Politicians at the event include Hon Bola Gbabijo, former Epe Federal House of Representatives Member; Hon Monsuru Aimasiko, Eredo LCDA Chairman; Comrade Alogba former NUT National Chairman; and Comrade Segun Raheem, NUT National Treasurer.
Giving the vote of thanks, Miss Mosunmola Adefuye, appreciated the dignitaries for defying the heavy rain downpour to honour her beloved mother.
She specially mentioned members of staff of Iru/Victoria Island LCDA; Onigbongbo LCDA; Epe General Hospital; Exam Board; SUBEB, Igbogbo-Bayeku; and Eti-Osa Local Government for gracing the event, describing every one of them as special guests.
