Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya Super Cup To Start Dec. 8

The Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya (SAN) under-17 super cup will get underway on December 8.

Adewunmi Ogunsanya is the highly revered and cerebral chairman of Multi choice Nigeria and new Odofin of Ikorodu Kingdom.

The tournament is being held in honour of Chief Ogunsanya and also felicitate with him on his emergence as the Odofin in the ongoing chieftaincy ceremony in Ikorodu kingdom.

The tournament is aimed at providing platform that will facilitate the engagement with youth and also inculcate the culture of hardwork and diligence in them while promoting sporting and recreational activities in the kingdom.

It’s also geared towards addressing the Spectre of violence that pervades the society as the youth are Implored to eschew violence and other social vices.

The tournament, which is the first of its kind, will have its matches played on Laspotech football pitch in ikorodu campus with teams across across all local government within ikorodu division — Ikorodu, Igbogbo, Ijede and Imota — slugging it out with one another for the grand prize.

The sponsor and organiser of the tournament,  prince Adedoyin Ogunbiyi-Oyeneye Jokotex, Managing Consultant of Hicare Health foundation, said sport, especially football, is a unifier in Nigeria and that he’s leveraging on that attribute by using the sport to engender social cohesion in Ikorodu.

He described Odofin Ogunsanya as a man of sterling performance, impeccable character and beacon of hope noting that his enthronement as the Odofin of Ikorodu Kingdom will herald a dawn of accelerated development for Ikorodu in all facet of human of endeavour.

He added that a fresh horde of talented footballers and potential stars will be unearthed at the tournament.
