The Blues announced on Monday they had sacked Coach Frank Lampard after a poor run in the EPL.
“This was a very tough decision for Chelsea, not least because I’ve a good personal relationship with Lampard and I’ve the utmost respect for him,” said owner Roman Abramovich.
The Ex-England international is expected to depart Stamford bridge with the club struggling in 9th position on the English Premier League standings, eleven points behind leaders, The Red Devils.
The Blues have lost 5 of their past 8 Premier League games after a good beginning to the campaign.
Ex- Paris Saint-Germain gaffer Thomas Tuchel in line to continue from where Lampard stopped, reports said.
A hat-trick from England international Tammy Abraham helped Chelsea progress into the FA Cup 5th round on Sunday afternoon with a 3-1 victory over Championship Outfit, Luton.
But that win looks unlikely to save Frank Lampard’s job, with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich evidently ready to make a managerial change.
As a player Lampard got used to the fickleness of Abramovich towards his managers with nine appointed during his time there.
As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, Ex-PSG Boss Tuchel only became available one month back when he departed French Giants, PSG, less than 5 months after taking them to the UEFA Champions Lague finale, which they lost to German Giants FCBayern Munich 1-0.
The German gaffer won back-to-back league honours with Paris Saint-Germain, but that wasn’t enough to satisfy PSG ambitious owners, who replaced him with Ex-Tottenham Boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Prior to Paris Saint-Germain, Thomas Tuchel impressed at BVB, having started his managerial career with Lower division sides Augsburg and then Mainz
