OGSIEC Announces Date For Ogun Local Govt Polls

• Press briefing had been scheduled for Tuesday to apprise the press of proceedings.
  
  Ogun State Government has announced date for the conduct of local government and ward election in State.

The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), on Friday said the election would hold on on July 24, 2021.

According to OGSIEC, elections for Local Government Chairmanship and Ward Councilorship would be conducted on that day.

The development was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman of OGSIEC, Babatunde Osibodu.

Osibodu disclosed that a press briefing had been scheduled for Tuesday to apprise the press of proceedings.

He said the press conference would avail OGSIEC the opportunity to unveil the electoral guidelines to all political parties and the general public.

All registered political parties participating in the election were asked to present not more than two representatives at the press briefing, in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.
