In a statement, Governor Abiodun’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Kayode Akinmade, categorically disclaimed the message as an “obvious scam” and warned people not to fall for it.
The statement clarified that “The Ogun State Government is not involved in any form of cash transfer programme through the link provided in the scam message as https://taskcashup.com/get/OGUN-st-relief-funds/Apply/ogun-reg-portal.” It described the link as fraudulent and unauthorized.
While committing to genuinely alleviate citizens’ suffering through empowerment initiatives, the government explained that authentic information is disseminated through official channels only.
The statement cautioned that any unverified information from outside official sources should be treated with suspicion and avoided, adding that accessing or providing personal data through dubious links poses significant risk.
