Ogun Govt. Reiterates Support For Trace
The Ogun State Government has reiterated its commitment to support the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), with more gadgets, in order to effectively discharge their duties.
The Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun stated this in Abeokuta, at the Treasury Board meeting for the preparation of the 2022-2024 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the 2022 Budget.
Abiodun said it has been observed that motorists and other road users have not been complying with the rules and regulations of speed limits, saying it was causing obstruction on the road.
He said his administration would continue to support TRACE to ensure that any road user that violates the speed limit or other rules and regulations would face the full wrath of the law, either through fines or have their vehicles impounded.

“This government is committed more than ever to support the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps with more gadgets to execute it’s numerous challenges, in order to save lives and property”, he said.
The State Helmsman charged the TRACE boss to ensure that ambulances were stationed strategically to attend to emergency situations on the roads, as well as position towing vehicles at strategic places, to monitor any vehicle obstructing vehicular movement, saying such an act would attract sanction.
Speaking, the TRACE Commander and Chief Executive Officer, Commander, Olaseni Ogunyemi, appreciated the Governor for his support in the successful implementation and execution of the Corps activities, calling for capacity building of motorists and other road users, so as to get them acquainted with new trend on road management.
