Eko Hot Blog reports that the Ogun State Police Command has apprehended a 65-year-old pastor, Timothy Adedibu, on allegations of defiling a nine-year-old girl in Magboro, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state.
The incident, which occurred on February 15, was reported by the survivor’s uncle, prompting swift action from law enforcement.
According to reports, Timothy Adedibu is believed to be the leader of a local church in the community.
The family of the survivor informed the police that the clergyman had lured the minor into his apartment, where the alleged assault took place.
Omolola Odutola, the state police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, stating that the investigation is currently ongoing.
She mentioned that the pastor has been arrested, and the survivor’s family has been provided with forms for medical examination and treatment. All involved parties will be transferred to the headquarters for further investigation.

In a similar case, the command also arrested Prince Dara for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in Abolaniyi Street, Idorawa, via Idi-Oke in the state.
The incident, which occurred on February 8, 2024, involved the survivor, identified as Odede.
She accused the suspect of luring her into his house after seizing her bag, which contained her mobile phone and personal effects.
“The surveillance teams were immediately mobilized to the scene, and the entire area was combed for useful information, and the suspect was apprehended and brought to the station for questioning.” she added.
The victim, Odede, received medical treatment, and the case file, along with the parties involved, will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Abeokuta for discreet investigation.
Defilement is a serious sexual offence under Nigerian criminal law, and legal practitioner Collins Aigbogun emphasized in an exclusive interview that anyone found guilty of the crime could face life imprisonment.
The incidents highlight the need for continued efforts to address and prevent such heinous acts within communities.
