Ogun Police Arrest Suspected Ritualist with Human Remains

The Ogun State Police have arrested Taiwo Yemitan, a 45-year-old man suspected of being involved in ritual killings, after he was found with a fresh human head and body parts in Abeokuta.

The police made the arrest early Sunday morning in the Lafenwa area, following a tip-off from local security groups, including Agbekoya and vigilante operatives.

According to police spokesperson SP Omolola Odutola, Yemitan confessed to killing a woman named Darasimi, whom he had lured to his home with the intent to murder her. He also named two accomplices, Kehinde Yemitan and Kazeem, who were allegedly involved in the crime. The group intended to sell the victim’s body parts for rituals.

The dismembered body has been taken to the General Hospital in Ijaye for an autopsy. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the accomplices and locate the victim’s family.

This incident follows a similar case earlier this year, where a suspect, Azeez Adebayo, admitted to killing three women through “hookup” schemes. The police warned young women to avoid such dangerous practices and urged parents to guide their daughters to stay safe and avoid falling victim to ritual killings.
