Ogun State Police Rescue Two From Kidnappers
The Ogun State Police Command has rescued one National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Member, Agnes Okoroji who was deployed to the Federal Girls College, Sagamu, Ogun State and another lady, Tawa Sosanwo from the hands of some alleged kidnappers.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed this in a statement.
According to the statement, the incident happened when the police attached to the area stopped a Toyota Sienna with number plate MUS 86 FN, conveying passenger along the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode Road.
It was gathered that they however suspected a foul play after detecting fear on the passengers faces.
But rather than parking to be checked, the vehicle ran off, which prompted the police to launch a chase after the vehicle.

The PPRO noted that in an attempt to rescue the victims, a gun battle broke out between the police led by Divisional Police Officer, Sagamu, SP Okiki Agunbiade and the suspected kidnappers resulting in the death of one suspect while the others escaped through a nearby bush.
Oyeyemi stated that the victims were kidnapped at different locations and were headed for their hideout when the police intercepted them.
“Having realized that they were being pursued, the men in the car started firing at the policemen while on the move, and the policemen fired back.
“The suspects later jumped down, abandoned the car and ran into the bush, while the policemen chased after them and shot one of them dead, while the others escaped with gunshot injuries.”
“The police team rescued a youth corps member identified as Agnes Okoroji, attached to the Federal Girls College, Sagamu, and one Tawa Sosanwo.
“The two victims narrated how they were kidnapped at various locations by the hoodlums, who were taking them to an unknown destination before the police intercepted them on the road.
“Their operational car was recovered with the following items: One black toy gun, one gold wristwatch, one Samsung Galaxy S7 phone, one cutlass and one black wristwatch.”
The PPRO stated that the Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson, appreciates the efforts of the officers.
“The CP also assured members of the public that the fleeing members of the gang would be hunted and arrested within the shortest possible time,” the PPRO explained.
