Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has approved a new policy granting officers on Grade Levels 01-14 two days off per week, while those on Grade Levels 15-17 will continue to enjoy one day off weekly.
In a statement by the State Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, the initiative aims to ease the burdens faced by workers, particularly in terms of commuting challenges.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that he noted that this policy is expected to significantly improve worker morale, leading to better service delivery.
Onasanya commended Governor Abiodun for his dedication to employee welfare and urged all accounting officers to implement the policy swiftly across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, ensuring that service delivery remains uninterrupted.
The Head of Service also highlighted that this move builds on a previous policy introduced by the governor in July 2023, which provided a one-day-off benefit to all workers.
The extension to two days for lower-grade officers is designed to further alleviate financial pressures caused by the recent increase in fuel prices, which has escalated transportation costs nationwide.
Governor Abiodun’s initiative aims not only to reduce the financial strain on workers but also to enhance their overall productivity and well-being.
