Oladeji Bodunwa, the groom, wedded his sweetheart, Linda Onolemhemhen, the bride, in different ceremonies on Friday, July 19, 2024, and Saturday, July 20, 2024.
In a congratulatory message to the groom’s family and the couple, Mr. Ogunpitan, a longtime friend of the groom’s father, wished the couple a marriage filled with love, prosperity, and respect.
While fondly remembering his time together with Pastor Bodunwa at UNILAG in the 1980s, the groom father’s friend said he was excited to share the special moment with his friend.
“Johnson Bodunwa (JB), and I go way back to our days sharing Dr Olu Fadeyibi’s (our amazing lecturer), boys Quarters as students while studying Mass Comm at Unilag in the ’80s, but our story truly began years earlier in Kano, where we first met,” he wrote.
“It’s always special to share moments with friends, and today [July 20, 2024] is extra special as Deji, Johnsons son, weds Ofure in Lagos!
“Wishing them a marriage filled with love, prosperity, and respect. May your joy be endless JB. Congratulations to the beautiful couple and the proud parents of the bride and groom!”
The couple were firstly joined in a traditional ceremony at Bridgeview Apartments, Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, July 19.
The ceremony featured the traditional marriage rites, including the groom and bride families consenting to the union and blessing the couple.
Afterwards, the Oladeji and Linda were joined in the Christian way at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1004 Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Saturday, July 20.
The couple were admonished to love and respect one another as a recipe for a peaceful, fruitful, and prosperous marriage.
The wedding reception followed immediately after the church service at D’Baywater Events Centre, Lekki, Lagos.
The reception featured the traditional cutting of cake, but it was the couple’s first dance that quickly caught the eye.
As Oladeji and Linda danced joyfully, revelling in their new union, their family and friends joined in to celebrate them.
The groom, who studied Economics at University of Lagos, is a Chartered Accountant. He is a Senior Tax Consultant at Deloitte LLP.
On the other hand, the bride, who studied Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo State, is a Product Manager at Symcor INC. Canada.
