Okemagba Development Association Hosts Historic Inaugural Presidential Gala

The Okemagba community in the Eredo-Epe area of Lagos recently hosted its maiden Presidential Gala under the auspices of the Okemagba Development Association (ODA).

Established 30 years ago, ODA serves as a unifying platform for community members to deliberate and implement initiatives aimed at fostering growth and development.

The event, held in Epe, was graced by notable personalities, including Professor John Oladapo Obafunwa, a prominent figure from the Odoyangushi area of Okemagba.

Speaking to EkoHotBlog, Professor Obafunwa emphasized the significance of the inaugural Presidential Gala as a platform for community engagement, dialogue, and collective strategizing for the community’s progress.

He highlighted the importance of involving the youth in activities that contribute positively to the community, stressing the need to inspire them with exemplary leadership.

“The core idea is to set good examples for our youth to follow,” he stated.

Professor Obafunwa also pledged to increase his involvement in community affairs, expressing his commitment to serving as a role model for the younger generation.

“It is my responsibility to actively engage with the community and demonstrate the values and behaviors we wish to see in our youth,” he concluded.

The gala underscored ODA’s dedication to unity and progress, reinforcing its vision of a thriving and harmonious Okemagba community.
