Okemagba Development Association To Raise N400m to Establish World-Class Global Community Centre
Hon. Shamsideen Adekunle Adeniyi, Publicity Secretary of the Okemagba Development Association (O.D.A), has disclosed that the association aims to raise 400 million naira to establish a world-class global community centre.
“We have a lot of lofty ideas, and part of the things we intend to do is organize a fundraising event sometime next year, where we aim to raise about 400 million,” he said during the 2024 Presidential Gala hosted by O.D.A at the Okemagba Development Association House in Eredo, Epe, Lagos, on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
The Okemagba Development Association (O.D.A) was established in 1975 with the mission of promoting unity, fostering peaceful inter-communal co-existence, and creating thriving, self-sufficient communities.

Speaking in an interview with Ekohotblog, Hon. Shamsideen Adekunle emphasized the purpose of the association, stating, “Okemagba is not a social club; it is a development association. The essence of our forefathers in setting up the association was to intervene in the development of the Okemagba community as a whole.”
He further outlined the association’s future plans to intervene in social, educational, and economic areas within the Okemagba community, which comprises 11 communities: Odoajogun, Odoayan, Odogbawojo, Odoshiwola, Ibonwon, Ilara, Igbooye, Odoyangushin, Odoragushin, Eredo, and Odoroga.

As part of its developmental initiatives, Hon. Adeniyi revealed plans to establish a free technology hub and provide scholarships for professional courses to combat unemployment.
“One of the things we have in mind is to turn a room in this place into a tech hub, where we intend to teach our younger generation new skills that are necessary for global employability. This will be free of charge. We are also planning to offer value-added scholarships for professional courses to help reduce unemployment,” he concluded.
