Okezie Ikpeazu Donates Ten Hectares Of Land For Fire Fighting Training School
Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has lauded the federal government for citing a federal fire fighting training center/school designated for the southeast region in his state and promptly allocated a ten-hectare land for it.
Presenting the land’s documents to the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Interior, Georginia Ehuria at Government house Umuahia, the state capital when she led a delegation of the Federal Fire Service, the governor, through his deputy, Ude Oko Chukwu assured that the state government do the needful to actualize the project execution.
Ehuria told the governor that the establishment of the school in Umuahia was part of the next-level agenda of the president to ensure safety of lives and property especially in markets in the country.
Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Ibrahim Liman pleaded with the governor to in addition, provide them with temporary accommodation to facilitate the immediate take off of federal fire Service in the zone.
Stressing the need for the school to train professionals, Liman said it would minimize fire incidents and the resulting loss of lives and property.
