Okorocha Canvasses For One Senator Per State To Reduce Cost Of Governance

The Senator representing Imo West Senatorial district, Senator Rochas Okorocha has canvassed for one Senatorial representative per state to replace the current three per state.

Okorocha noted that reducing the number of senators per state would cut down the cost of governance.

The Senator made the call on the floor of the senate while addressing his colleagues as seen in a video uploaded by Channels TV on Friday.

He said “our constitution Provide that we have three Senators per state, what is the three Senators doing that one Senator can not do?

He added “each of these persons creates demand on the system. We must cut down on the cost of governance”

Okorocha stressed the need for the Senate to make sacrifice and aid in cutting down the cost of governance.
