EKO HOT BLOG reports that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has expressed gratitude to people in the state for electing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori, in Saturday’s governorship election.
Oborevwori, who is the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, polled 360,234 to defeat the Deputy Senate President and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Ovie Omo-Agege.
While the Labour Party governorship candidate, Deacon Ken Pella, came third with 48,047 votes.
The governor attributed the party’s victory to God’s grace and asked the people to support the governor-elect in taking the state to a greater height.
He said this at a Thanksgiving Service at Government House Chapel in Asaba, shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Oborevwori as governor-elect on Monday.
