OKOWA: No Muslim-Muslim Presidency

  • Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa hits strongly against the Muslim-Muslim Presidency of the APC following INEC’s announcement of the 2023 presidential election results.

  • According to the politician, it is not the will God has for Nigeria as a country.

  • Okowa echoes the divide that has plagued Nigeria in recent years, with Christian and Muslim factions looking at the other with suspicion.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has expressed his belief that a Muslim-Muslim presidency is not in line with God’s will for Nigeria.

Okowa made this statement on Friday during a meeting with Isoko Church leaders held at God’s Fountain of Life Mission in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of the state.

The Governor raised concerns about the recent closure of the church within the Presidential Villa in Abuja and called on Christians to continue praying for the will of God to be done in Nigeria.

Okowa’s comments come in the wake of the election of President-elect Bola Tinubu and Vice President-elect Kashima Shettima of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, who are both Muslims. The governor also expressed his belief that the outcome of the recent presidential and national assembly poll was compromised, stating that it was not the will of God.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, vice presidential candidate stated that the opposition had seen the manipulation coming and prayed against the situation that they found themselves in.

Okowa encouraged Christians to rise in faith and not to mourn, urging them to be prayerful and to think from the inside.

“It is not the will of God that the Chapel in Aso Rock will be closed for four years as a result of the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC,” Okowa said, adding that it is time to “rise in faith and not time to mourn”.

The Governor’s comments come amidst growing concerns about the future of religious tolerance in Nigeria. While the country’s constitution guarantees freedom of religion, religious tensions have often been exploited for political gain.
