Eko Hot Blog reports that friends and family of Olayemi Hafsat Lawal and Olanrewaju Awe have sent goodwill messages to them following their traditional wedding ceremony.
The couple were joined in a traditional wedding ceremony on Saturday, December 24, 2023, in Lagos State.
The ceremony was well-attended by close relatives and friends who were quick to send their well wishes and thoughtful advice.
In an interview with Eko Hot Blog, Alhaji Surajudeen Ishola Awe, the head of the Awe family, wished the couple a successful journey together, invoking Allah’s blessings.
He advised the bride to be submissive, assuring her that Olanrewaju, known for his gentleness, will foster a successful and enjoyable marriage.
“I wish the bride and the groom a very successful journey together in the name of the almighty Allah and as we all are successful during our time, I wish them more bliss than us,” the groom’s family head.
“My advice is particularly for the bride. She should be very submissive, not that she should be a slave to the husband. I know Lanre, once she’s submissive, she will enjoy her husband. Lanre cannot hurt a fly. So I pray they lead a successful marriage.”
On his part, Mr. Hakeem Awe, the elder brother to Olanrewaju’s father, wished the couple a joyful home, highlighting the bride’s fortune in joining the Awe family.
He praised the groom’s qualities, assuring Olayemi a regret-free union.
“I wish the couple, a happy home. The bride is lucky to be part of the Awe’s family and I know she will enjoy her marriage. This is because, Lanre is a very fine man in many areas. Women married to our family have never regretted being part of us and I know she too won’t regret being part of the Awe’s family,” the groom’s uncle said.
Also, Mrs. Remi Awe, a wife in the Awe family for 25 years, praised Olanrewaju’s virtues and expresses joy for the bride.
She wished them a healthy, happy, and memorable life, assuring Olayemi of a regret-free marriage in their loving and kind-hearted family. She further emphasized the importance of tolerance and mutual respect.
“I got into the Awe’s family 25 years ago. I knew Lanre since age 5; he’s like a kid brother and a nice nephew to me. The bride is very lucky to have Lanre as her better half,” the bride said.
“I wish them many more years in good health, happiness, long life, and a memorable life. There’s no cause for alarm for Yemi; she’s coming to a nice family, and she won’t regret getting married to the Awe’s family. The people are lovely and kind-hearted.
“My advice to the couple is to be tolerant and have respect for each other’s feelings.”
Furthermore, Architect Abiola Anifowoshe expressed gratitude for the couple’s union and shared insights from his 46-year marriage.
He advised patience, love, and reliance on God, drawing from personal experience in a polygamous home, advocating for contentment and the limitless potential of a patient and dedicated marriage.
“Firstly, I thank God for allowing them to reach this day. It’s challenging nowadays for couples to stay together, but I appreciate God. I’ve been married for 46 years, with 7 years together before marriage, so I pray they last long in peace and harmony,” he stated.
“My advice is for them to have patience; it’s crucial. They should love and understand each other, letting God lead without room for a third party. I come from a polygamous home, being the first child.
“I survived and decided to stick to one woman, a choice beneficial in the long run. One wife, one problem; two wives, multiple problems. So, if they can be patient and content, the sky will be just the beginning and not the limit.”
As Olayemi and Olanrewaju embark on this new chapter, the words of wisdom and warm wishes from their loved ones provide a foundation for a joyous and prosperous journey into marital bliss.
