- Principals thank alumni, appeal for continued support.
Old school ties came alive on Monday, September 22, as the Odo-Obara Old Students Association returned to their alma mater, Odo-Obara Junior and Senior High School, Epe, Lagos State, to give back through impactful projects.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the alumni, drawn from various graduating sets, commissioned a brand-new school gate with two solar-powered streetlights and donated vital educational materials to students.
The initiative was led by the Association’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Barrister Tajudeen Elias, who dedicated the program to the memory of a past president.
“I dedicate this program to my late friend and brother, former President of the Association, Yisa Arimi. May Allah continue to be merciful with his soul, forgive his shortcomings, and grant him Al Jannah Firdaus,” Elias said.
The 2000 set funded the new gate and solar lights, the 2001 set supplied writing materials to all JSS 2 and JSS 3 students, while the 2007 set presented seven white marker boards to the school.

“I’m greatly honoured and amazed to be considered worthy of this award. I remain humble and promise to renew my commitment to the Association and the society at large,” Elias added during the event.
The Principals of both schools expressed heartfelt gratitude. Alhaja Awulat Owolabi of the Junior School praised the alumni’s consistent support, while Mr. Leo of the Senior School remarked, “As Oliver Twist, we request for more intervention.”
National President Ustadh Ismail Abdrasak Gbenjo commended key contributors, including Alhaji AbdulRahmon Abass, Imam Agbaraojo Shamsideen, Mrs. Oluwatosin Raheem, and Mr. Egwenu Samuel, for their leadership and sacrifice in making the projects a reality.
