Ekohotblog reports that Engr. Abiola Olowu, the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Mineral Resources, has donated N20,000 each to widows and struggling traders in Ibeju-Lekki.
The donation aims to assist those in need and ease their financial burdens.
Speaking at the event, Olowu said, “This cash gift is intended to reduce the financial difficulties faced by widows and vulnerable individuals. It also supports Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s efforts to assist and empower the less privileged in Lagos.”
The beneficiaries, many of whom sell small items like roasted plantain, corn, boiled eggs, and groundnuts, expressed gratitude for the support.
One of the traders, Mrs. Yetunde, said, “This money will help me grow my business. I am very grateful to Engr. Olowu, and I promise to use it wisely.”
Another trader added, “This N20,000 will allow me to stock more goods and make a larger profit, which will help me take care of my family.”
Olowu assured the community that this support is only the beginning, and more assistance will follow.
“We want to ensure that those most in need are not left behind,” he said.
