Oba Adewale popularly called “Shehu” by his people, was reported to have been a reliable pillar of support in the execution of this year’s Ramadan tafsir in the community.

Speaking in an interview with Ekohotblog, the Chairman of the Ramadan Tafsir Committee, Alhaji Musbau Agoro, emphasized that the month of Ramadan was essential to the people of Epe Kingdom as they’re predominantly Muslims. It is on this basis that he said Ramadan tafsir provides the people with the opportunity to have explicit knowledge of the teachings of the Holy Quran as led by the prolific Ulamas.

He explained that the strategic collaboration of the Ulamas with deep Arabic knowledge and the Elites with proficiency in Western Education brought about the huge success recorded which elicited commendation from Olu-Epe.

He further asserted that the ancient Tafsir Mosque, built-in 1920, was befitting for the tafsir rather than the First Epe Central Mosque, due to the purpose of its establishment.

” Quote me anywhere, from here to Saudi Arabia, there’s no mosque called Tafsir Mosque. That is to tell you that Epe Kingdom people are nothing but pure Islamic people. We worship no God except Allah. Go to any family compound, you can’t find any acts of idolatry. The only festival after this is Ileya and Kayo-Kayo”, he stated.
