Omo-Agege had defeated Ike Ekweremadu, the deputy Senate President to emerge as the ninth Deputy President of the Senate.
In Tuesday’s election the Delta born lawmaker had 68 votes while Ekweremadu, representing Enugu East had 37 votes.
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had endorsed Omo-Agege as Lawan’s deputy.
