Omoluabi Awards Will Boost, Epe Economy, Tourism – Yomi Agbaje.

The Publisher of Our Days Media and convener of Omoluabi Awards and Miss Epe Division, Yomi Agbaje, says the 2020 edition of the award will accelerate the growth and development of Epe in many ways.

He noted that the upcoming awards will definitely boost the economy of the area and unearth the plethora of untapped tourism potentials of Epe Division.

Agbaje opined that the event will propel individuals and organisation with businesses domiciled in the division to do more for it, adding that it will also attract investment to Epe.

He noted that event is to reward those who have been outstanding and exceptional in their businesses and have also shown immense determination to improve lives of others.

“The Omoluabi awards has always been in place before now as it was ran alongside Miss Epe Division pageant.

” The concept behind the awards is to reward hard work, dedication and commitment. We have indigenes and none indigenes who have established businesses and invested heavily in human capacity development in several ways which has catered for thousands of lives. So, the awards is an avenue to say thank you for uplifting our community”, he stated.

He stressed that the resultant impacts of the awards on the community is to promote culture and tradition, entertainment, talents, healthy competition amongst individuals of Yoruba descent, to reward hard work, innovation and originality, to facilitate greater cooperation between leaders and citizens and to stimulate peace and unity.

” The kind of Epe we want is such that we would be proud of. Why go to the Island to watch a comedy show? We can bring those artistes here also. The awards will stimulate sales in hotels, businesses, the Fish Market, sea food. It will also enhance contact sharing, networking and others. The event will promote culture, local music, traditional music, Ibile artists and comedy. All these would have a positive mental impact on participants in several ways”, he said.

On nomination process, Agbaje disclosed that apart from the online nomination, an award committee tagged ” Award Academy” was also constituted to look into nominees, investigate their background and scrutinize them adequately. He therefore noted that the event is organized in strict adherence to COVID 19 protocols.
