Eko Hot Blog reports that Folakemi Omogoroye, an aspirant for the governorship of Ondo State under the All Progressives Congress, has rejected Saturday’s primary election and demanded its cancellation.
Omogoroye alleged that the election did not take place in many wards across the state. She has called on the party’s national leadership and President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the matter.
“But to my greatest surprise, the reverse is the case. I was on the field from 7 am, no election materials were seen not to talk of any party officials or INEC officials. I don’t know how that happened and I don’t know how the party is going to take that.
“But I, Engr. Folakemi Omogoroye will not accept that; because I believe in the party.
“I have been in the party for years, and this is the time we have to make the party better”
Omogoroye has appealed to the national party leadership for a rerun of the primary election, indicating potential legal action if their request is not met.
According to The PUNCH, two other aspirants, Mr. Wale Akinterinwa and Chief Olusola Oke, have also criticized the election process and are calling for its cancellation.
