EKO HOT BLOG reports that Aiyedatiwa affirmed his Christian faith, expressing the importance of prayer and spiritual support for effective governance. “I am one of you, a born-again Christian, aware of the spiritual responsibilities tied to leadership.
The Ondo State government is rooted in the body of Christ, and we must not fail. Please continue praying for wisdom in governance and a peaceful, just election,” he said. He emphasized the importance of a smooth electoral process that aligns with the people’s will, underscoring his belief in the power of prayer.
In response, Rev. Fr. Anselm Ologunwa, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Ondo State, commended Aiyedatiwa for his dedication to issues affecting Christians. While affirming CAN’s non-partisan stance, he acknowledged the value of supportive leadership that aligns with Christian values.
“We appreciate your promptness in addressing matters that affect the body of Christ. CAN is non-partisan and promotes Christ’s teachings, regardless of political affiliations. We’re prepared to support leaders who prioritize the people’s welfare,” Ologunwa stated.
He stressed the need for leaders to focus on peace, harmony, and economic progress, particularly in job creation.
He also announced that CAN had organized three days of prayer, beginning on November 10, to seek God’s guidance for the election and the future of the state.
