The Ondo state government has given a stern warning to principals of secondary schools in the state over extortion from the students and their parents, threatening that anybody caught in this act will be heavily sanctioned.
This warning was contained in a statement from the office of the commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Mr Femi Agagu.
The statement read :
“It has come to our notice that some School Principals are extorting money from parents in contravention of the Free Education Policy and approved collectibles of the Akeredolu administration.
“These Principals are warned to desist from this unpatriotic and unscrupulous act as any one caught will be severely punished and those already reported and investigated will face appropriate disciplinary action if found wanting.”
