The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has confirmed Gboye Adegbenro as the running mate to its governorship candidate, Agboola Ajayi.

You recalled that Agboola had quit Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday for ZLP in order to keep is governorship aspiration alive.
The development was coming about two months after he dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC for Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
But having lost to Jegede Eyitayo at the PDP Primary three weeks ago, Ajayi decided to look elsewhere, a place where his ambition of becoming a governor can be realised.
His the emergence of Ajayi as the flag bearer of the ZLP has changed the dynamic of the governorship race from two horse race between PDP and APC to three horse race.
With his emergence, a third force has emerged as it is believed that ZLP has a strong footing in ondo and will definitely give both the APC and PDP a run for their money at the poll.
Former Commissioner for Youths and Sports Yekini Olanipekun has, however, denied eyeing the ZLP governorship ticket.
He said he was not a member of ZLP and never sought to run on the party’s platform.
Olanipekun said: “I’m not part of ZLP. I didn’t lobby and never discussed with anybody that I wanted to be running mate on ZLP’s platform.”
