The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has begun the accreditation of delegates for its primary election.
Delegates from Akoko-South West, Akoko-South East, Akoko-North Esst have been ushered into the premises of the Dome, venue of the accreditation and voting.
Security operatives are also present at the venue of the primary, with large crowd of delegates outside the gate waiting to be accredited.
Incumbent Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who is one of the aspirants arrived at the venue around 12 noon to inspect accreditation.
Chief Olusola Oke was another aspirant present at the venue.
Meanwhile, it was reported that other aspirants have been pressurized to step down from the race for the incumbent governor to avoid the party going into the main election as a divided party.
Ekohotblog reported that Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele, Dr. Olusegun Abraham, and Jimi Odimayo are aspirants that have stepped down for Akeredolu.
Dr. Nath Adojutelegan, however, denied the claims that he had stepped down from the race.
Adojutelegan in a statement reaffirmed his commitment to contesting at the primary
“I cannot and will not step down in the interest of my people,” he said.
