The Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Mr. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, popularly known as Tukana, has died. The tragic incident occurred on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at an undisclosed hospital.

Reports indicate that Oluwatuyi had been hospitalized since December 19, 2024, after being involved in a severe car accident along the Ife-Ibadan Road.

Confirming the loss, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Wale Akinlosotu, expressed the government’s deep sorrow in an official statement.

He described Oluwatuyi as a devoted public servant who contributed immensely to the development of Ondo State.

“It is with profound sadness that the Government of Ondo State announces the passing of Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, Secretary to the State Government, on January 4, 2025,” the statement read.

Oluwatuyi’s career spanned several key roles, including Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner, and twice as Secretary to the State Government.

His dedication to administrative coordination, policy advisory, and governance left an indelible mark on the state.

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who appointed Oluwatuyi as SSG on January 24, 2024, praised his steadfast service and invaluable contributions.
