Chairman of the Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa on twitter while reacting to Hushpuppi’s arrest, noted that millions of Nigerians are excelling worldwide without fraudulent involvement.
It was reported that Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Ramoni Igbalode aka Hushpuppi, was arrested on June 10, 2020, on multiple fraud charges along with 12 other accomplices in Dubai by the United State’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
She added that it is not right to judge other Nigerians living abroad by hushpuppi’s action as millions of others excel without fraudulent involvement.

She then advised Nigerians living abroad to maintain orderliness and be law-abiding citizens rather than tarnishing their image.
She tweeted;
RE- RAY HUSHPUPPI (Ramoni Igbalode) HAS A CASE TO ANSWER WITH EFCC.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission notes with displeasure, the cybercrime and money laundering network/transaction running into millions of dollars allegedly exhibited by Ramoni Igbalode aka Ray Hushpuppi.
We await @officialEFCC’s further and thorough investigation as well as new updates on the case. We advise and urge Nigerians abroad to be law-abiding citizens, be good ambassadors, and not tarnish the country’s image.
However, while a few Nigerians get involved in acts such as this, millions of others are excelling worldwide. One bad apple should not spoil the whole bunch!.
