An eyewitness, Ismail Akinola, who witnessed the second accident revealed that lack of concentration on the part of the drivers led to the multiple crash.
He said, “What happened was that the truck carrying container wanted to switch lane without paying attention to the tipper vehicle beside it. The tipper on sighting the truck tried to avoid collision but it was too late and therefore resulted in a multiple collision. I think it is due to lack of concentration on the part of the drivers.”
Confirming the accidents, the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe, said that one person died, while three people were injured in different accidents involving seven persons along the expressway.
