One Feared Dead In Lagos Accident

One person has been reported dead in a road accident in Lagos, EKOHOTBLOG has gathered.
The Director-General of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, made this known via the agency’s situation report on Saturday.
According to the LASEMA boss, a lifeless body of an adult male was recovered after a Toyota Jeep with registration number BDG732FD rammed into a truck from behind at 7 & 8 Bus Stop inward Airport Road, Lagos.
Oke-Osanyintolu, who stated that further investigation revealed that the accident was due to reckless driving, disclosed that LASEMA recovered the dead driver and wrecked Jeep.
According to the LASEMA boss, the accident which occurred close to midnight yesterday August 20, 2021, elicited the distress call received by the agency at about 11:50 pm via its 767/112 Toll-Free Emergency Response Lines.
He added that the operation was terminated at about 01:15 am on Friday.
Oke-Osanyintolu said, “On getting to the scene, the LRT discovered that a Toyota Jeep BDG732FD had an accident with a truck by running into it from behind.
“Further investigation revealed that the accident was due to reckless driving.

“Unfortunately, the driver of the Toyota Jeep lost his life, while the passenger sustained serious injuries and had been taken to the hospital before the arrival of the LRT.
“The LRT Bravo team deployed the Agency’s light tow truck to manage the situation,” he stated.
The LASEMA boss added that the victim has been bagged and handed over to the family, while the vehicle has been recovered from the road to a layby with the agency’s light tow truck.
