One Killed, Three Injured In Ogun State Road Accident

An accident involving a truck and a motorcycle has left the motorcyclist dead and three others injured on the Idiroko-Sango road in the Aro-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Public Relations Officer of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, confirmed the incident in a statement.

Akinbiyi noted that the accident was caused due to the negligence of the motorcyclist.

Akinbiyi said, “According to an eyewitness, the motorcycle rider rode dangerously as he was trying to overtake a truck on the same lane.

“As he tried to maneuver at a pothole, a passerby suddenly crossed the road, and while trying to avoid hitting him and at the same time avoiding a big pothole, ran across the truck which immediately ran over him.

“Incidentally, two pillion riders at the back of the motorcycle escaped being hit as they jumped, sustaining various degrees of injury. They were rescued to the state hospital, Ota.

“The dead pillion rider was taken to the morgue of the Ifo General Hospital.”
